In 2018, I realised that the education of poker was heading towards the wrong direction. I’ve been a long time poker pro with over ten years of experience in coaching. Having coached hundreds of students, I felt, and still feel, that there are unnecessarily big barriers for newcomers.
I oppose the idea of forcing beginners into game theory and technical charts from Day 1, because those can be intimidating and are often very far from the strategy they should apply at the lowest stakes.
I wanted to establish a more practical approach, and came up with the idea of a tool which enables players to quickly compare their decisions.
The concept was simple: top professionals could share full tournaments, cash game sessions they played, and beginners, rising stars could test their skills in a fun, practical and educational format, facing the same decisions as the original Hero. The tool would compare their decisions and highlight the potential mistakes.
It could be used in the opposite direction just as well: students uploading their questionable hands and getting a quick review from their coach or friend.
I was so confident about this concept that I quit my successful career as player to focus on designing and managing the new project full-time. And so CheckDecide was born!
The new job turned out to be a much bigger project than expected, and it has truly taken my blood, sweat and tears! Thankfully, poker has taught me how to handle ups and downs. My team and I never gave up, believing that hard work pays off.
When I came up with my idea of an interactive replayer, the two main goals were:
Make education of poker PRACTICAL and FUN!
SAVE TIME for players by enabling them to review hands very quickly!
I’m confident that the current version of CheckDecide achieves these goals. We have a unique, quickly growing platform with huge potential to improve further!
Shout out to the developers, who showed extreme commitment and persistence during the last two years, and a special thanks to our early users who helped us with their precious feedback!
Today is a big day for CheckDecide, we are officially moving from a free beta version to a subscription based product!
Uploading single hands and reviewing public hands will remain free, but the most advanced features will be tied to a Premium subscription.
To reward our early supporters, we have created special content on the ‘CD_Original’ account! These are tournaments with detailed commentary, and will only be accessible for the first subscribers!
Peace & Love
